Press and information officer Ms. Ineke Stoneham, who is representing the united states at their kathmandu embassy, paid a visit to the national press club, Nepal on january 5th, 2016. the current president of the national press, Mr. ram krishna karmacharya, welcomed Ms. Stoneham at press club offices in pulchowk 20, Lalitpur, Member of International Association of Press Clubs. she was introduced to all of the executive members of press club; Ms. Stoneham was curious about the current work, membership status and upcoming programs of the club. she was taught about the history, as well as current and future programs taking place, by Mr. Ram Krishna Karmacharya, president of the press club. Mr. Karmacharya were thankful to Ms. Stoneham for her visit, and appreciated the opportunity to forge a new relationship n the media and journalism sector of Nepal. Ms. Stoneham provided information about the newly opened library at Teku, as well as the one in the US Embassy, which was made open to the public for the occasion . Both of the libraries can be visited by showing a valid identity card. Ms. Stoneham has expressed her encouragement for all press club members to visit the libraries.


Environment Day

Every year World Environment Day, National Press Club organizes a three daylong program. On the first day an oratory program, awareness rally on the second day and concluded after a brief awareness speech by the Chairman of NCPN Mr. Ram K. Karmacharaya. On the third day, an intersection program on the importance of environment and water hygiene issue.

National Press Club Holds Meet

Lalitpur, Feb. 13 (RSS): On the occasion of the International Organization of Journalists (IOJ) the National Press Club organized a two day seminar here today on peace and security in Asia. Some 30 senior journalists of the country are participating in the seminar aimed at reducing criminal activities to some extent through coordination and understanding among journalists working to control terrorism in the region. Inaugurating the seminar, Minister for Information and Communications Chiranjibi Wagle said, “Since the Asian region is backward economically, peace and security should be given first priority in order to lift the living standard of Asian people.”? Through healthy and impartial journalism journalists can help control criminal activities. Mr. Wagle said adding Asian journalists should have a common policy regarding peace and security. Mr. Wagle also distributed international press cards provided by the IOJ to 10 Nepalese journalists. President of National Press Club Ram Krishna Karmacharaya disclosed that Nepal has been represented at the IOJ executive council since the past five years.
